Dave Ellenbecker - Founder

Dave Headshot 1Dave founded the Fore Life, Fore Hope Charity Golf tournament with his brother Brian in the summer of 2006 moments after finding out that their mother was diagnosed with uterine cancer.

He has also witnessed other relatives and friends battle this disease, and has witnessed the devastating effects that cancer has had on loved ones and their families. With a new found passion for fighting this deadly disease, they used their knowledge of working at Milwaukee Country Club as a logical gateway into starting a charity golf tournament, in which all proceeds would benefit cancer research.  Dave was able to use his several years of working in sales and leadership capacities to forge new relationships with the various Cancer Research Organizations to donate the funds raised to, as well as attracting sponsors, participants, and volunteers.  Dave and Brian were also able to build a committee of passionate volunteers, which aided them in making the events bigger by the year. Having found a loyal following begging for more events, the Strikes For Hope Charity Bowling Tournament was started in 2008, with the Spikes For Hope Charity Volleyball Tournament following in 2011.

Dave received his Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University in 2002, majoring in Business Administration.  He was awarded the Evans Scholarship, which is a scholarship awarded to golf caddies based on academics and community involvement.  Dave is a Property and Causalty Insurance Agent at Kirchen Insurance and resides in Cedarburg with his wife Lisa and their daughters, Olivia and Charlotte.

In 2015, Dave was honored to be asked to join the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center’s Advisory Board.  The MCW Cancer Center Board helps to raise awareness of the MCW Cancer Center and obtain private funding for research.

 Brian Ellenbecker - Co Founder

EllenbeckerBrian fb300 - BIO PicBrian co-founded The Fore Life, Fore Hope Charity Golf Tournament in the summer of 2006 as a way to help raise money for cancer research.  Over the years several family members, friends, and other several acquaintances were diagnosed with cancer, however, when his mother was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2006, this prompted Brian and his brother, Dave, to take action.  Brian and Dave grew up around golf courses, both working at Milwaukee Country Club for many years in various capacities including caddying and bartending.  Their time there not only introduced them to the game of golf, but also provided them with valuable experience in how to organize and run a golf tournament.  This experience proved critical in making these charity golf events successful.  The success of the golf tournament encouraged them to leverage their love for bowling and volleyball by adding the Strikes for Hope charity bowling tournament in 2008, and the Spikes for Hope charity volleyball tournament in 2011.

Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University in 2000, majoring in Finance with a minor in Spanish.  He was also an Evans Scholar while at Marquette.  Brian has worked as a Financial Planner at Robert W. Baird & Co. in Milwaukee since 2005 and currently resides in Mequon with his wife, Rebecca.

In 2015, Brian was honored to be asked to join the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center’s Advisory Board.  The MCW Cancer Center Board helps to raise awareness of the MCW Cancer Center and obtain private funding for research.

John Germano - Director of Information

DSCF4318John has been friends with the Ellenbecker brothers since the early 1990's.  Dave and Brian's cause hit home for John since his grandmother passed away from a very long battle with colon cancer in 1999.  John, as did Dave and Brian, also worked at Milwaukee Country Club where he was the golf tournament director for many summers.  Dave and Brian approached John about assisting in the coordination of the inaugural Fore Life, Fore Hope Charity Golf tournament based off of this experience, and has been involved with the charity ever since.

John received his Bachelor of Business Administration from UW-Milwaukee in 1999, majoring in Management Information Systems.  John works as a Project Manager for AHEAD Inc. and resides in Mequon with his wife Teresa and their 3 girls, Isabella, Giada, and Luciana.

  Laura Monfre - Donation Coordinator

LMLaura has been friends with Dave since freshman year in high school.  Later, she met and became friends with Brian after moving back from North Carolina and becoming an active member of the For Hope Charity committee.  Laura joined in the fundraising efforts and coordination of these events in 2008, because cancer has, and continues to, impact her life in numerous ways.  Her fraternal grandfather fought and won his battle with throat cancer, her maternal grandmother had her ovaries removed due to cancer cells.  In 2015, her Uncle Kurt sadly lost his battle against Glioblastoma brain cancer after a courageous 4 year long fight.  Numerous other fortunate family members are in remission from various types of cancers.

Laura received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the UW-Whitewater in 2005 and a Post-Bach Special Education Teaching Certification from UW-Milwaukee in 2010.  She worked as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher for Milwaukee Public Schools for 8 years, and currently resides in Sussex, with her husband Tim, and her 2 children, Logan and Violet.

Lisa Ellenbecker - Donation Coordinator

DSCF4319Lisa took part in the fundraising and coordination of the very first charity event, the Fore Life, Fore Hope Charity Golf Tournament back in 2006.  She saw first hand how devastating it was for Dave and his family when they found out their mother was diagnosed with uterine cancer, and was moved to help.  Supporting cancer research is a cause that has personal meaning for Lisa as she and her family suffered the loss of her maternal grandfather in 1995 after losing his battle to intestinal cancer.  She also lost her paternal grandfather to prostate cancer in 1988 and her paternal grandmother passed away from kidney cancer before she was born. As a registered nurse, she has witnessed patients and their families cope with the diagnosis of cancer and the difficult treatment regimen that follows.  Lisa has enjoyed helping to plan these events and connecting with local businesses to obtain donations, knowing that all profits support cancer research.

Lisa received her Bachelor's Degree in Physiological Sciences from Marquette University in 2003, where she was also an Evans Scholar. She then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Columbia College of Nursing and Mount Mary College in 2007. Lisa is currently a registered nurse on an orthopedic unit at St. Luke's Medical Center and resides in Cedarburg, WI with her husband Dave and their daughters, Olivia and Charlotte.

Danielle Shepstone - Donation Coordinator

Danielle has known Dave and Brian from attending school and church together as teenagers, and have remained friends ever since.  Danielle was directly affected by Cancer in her family, which motivated her to join in the fundraising efforts.  Her dad had prostate cancer and now fortunately has a clean bill of health.  Danielle also has been affected by watching the family members of close friends family fighting this deadly disease.  Danielle really enjoys helping coordinate these outings, knowing that she is contributing to help find a cure.  With her many connections throughout the community, Danielle has been an integral member in helping collect donation items, as well assisting in the planning of all events.

Danielle has lived in the Milwaukee area for most of her life, and is currently an Early Childhood Education Teacher. She also has been working as a manager, waitress and bartender at the Highland House in Mequon since 2010.
